Storm Damage Olive Branch Roof

Roof Replacement Olive Branch

Storm Damage Olive Branch Roof

Project Description

Client: Baker Residence
Location: Olive Branch, MS
Service: Roof Replacement

The Challenge

Customer had originally hired another contractor a year prior to assist in addressing their roof through the homeowner’s insurance company insuring the property. The original contractor was inexperienced in dealing with insurance companies and didn’t know that the shingle that was on her roof was a discontinued shingle that was unrepairable.

The Solution

Ray was referred from a past customer to assist the Baker’s in this matter. They wanted to see if anything could be done. Upon inspecting the roof, locating several areas that had sustained storm damage and the fact that this was a discontinued shingle, Ray felt confident that the Baker’s were due a full roof replacement by their insurance provider. The customer contacted the insurance company to file a new claim. Ray immediately documented the property and received the proper documentation verifying that the shingle was discontinued and unrepairable. The first adjuster that came to inspect the property denied the roof out right. The customer was not ok with the results and wanted to have a second inspection. During the second inspection the insurance company had a manager come out to assess the roof with a field rep and determined to replace the roof in its entirety. Now that the insurance company agreed to purchase the roof, the customer and Ray verified that what they paid for was like, kind, and quality (LKQ). The roof that was originally installed is considered a 3-tab composition shingle with a 30YR warranty made to mirror the look of an architectural shingle. The insurance provider originally tried to pay for a 25 YR 3-tab composition shingle (this is not LKQ). Both the customer and Ray noted that what the insurance company owed for was a shingle that was equivalent to what they already had.  Ray provided a Job Scope to the customer and insurance provider for a roof that was of like, kind, and quality and was successful in receiving a supplement on the oringal claim for the difference. In the end, Ray did his job and the customer received what she was rightfully due. She has a new roof, the only cost to her being that of her deductible.

Cordova Roof Replacement

Roof Replacement Cordova

Cordova Roof Replacement

Project Description

Client: Henry S.
Project Manager: Ray Buerkle
Location: Cordova, TN
Service: Roof Replacement

The Challenge

This Cordova home resides in a neighborhood notorious for storm damage to roofs. As a result, the Cordova neighborhood was saturated with our roofing competitors. Henry S.’ roof had obvious storm damage since several shingles were missing on the back of the roof. Ray Buerkle, roof system specialist, knocked on the door to consult with Henry S. about roof replacement and insurance restoration due to the storm damage. The real challenge was Ray was not the first, or even the third roofer to approach Henry S.

The Solution

Despite not being the first roofing company to try to talk with Henry S., Ray Buerkle managed to make a good impression by being personal, consultative, and knowledgeable about roof replacement. Ray likes to be respectful of people’s time, so after talking with him enough, he set up a time for an appointment to discuss the process more in depth. Ray remained flexible and committed to the customer through scheduling conflicts. He followed through with the entire roof replacement in Cordova and delivered on everything he communicated by getting the full roof replaced at the cost of the customer’s deductible. He was able to communicate and show the value to Henry S. to upgrade from a 20 year, 3tab to a 30 year architectural shingle along with ridge vents for the roof replacement in Cordova. The client said he would refer Ray and ContractingPRO to anyone in the future.

Roof Replacement Review

Project Description

Client: Carl and Nancy K
Location: Lakeland, TN
Service: Roof Replacement

The Challenge

Carl and Nancy K. set up a free roof assessment with ContractingPRO because they had roof damage and roof leaks. Upon inspection, Ray Buerkle noted storm damage to the roof. There was over 25 damaged shingles and interior damage to the living room. The insurance adjustor actually denied the claim and said the roof could be repaired. Due to Ray’s experience and expertise, he knew the roof was too old and too brittle and to be repaired and had obvious storm damage.

The Solution

Ray scheduled a maintenance appointment with the ContractingPRO production manager. He went on site during the actual roof repair to document the progress and prove that the roof was not repairable. He then shared his findings with the adjustor to prove the roof was not repairable and get the full roof replacement approved. ContractingPRO installed Owens Corning architectual shingles with drip edge, roof vents, and ice/water shield. The insurance claim process can be a burden and confusing for our customers. Ray Buerkle committed to improving the experience Carl and Nancy K. had with their contractor by staying by their side throughout the whole process.

Roof Replacement Bartlett Tennessee

Roof Replacement Bartlett Tennessee

Project Description

Client: David D.
Location: Bartlett, TN
Service: Roof Replacement

The Challenge

David D. originally called contractingPRO in need of roof repairs. At this Bartlett home, the back of the elevation was built up with a retaining wall which was almost level with the eve of the roof. As a result, this allowed easy access to animal wildlife. Raccoons actually chewed through 3 corners of the roof. The client tried installing some sheet metal barriers in order to prevent further damage, but it did not work. As a result, David D. contacted ContractingPRO to inspect the raccoon damage.

The Solution

Dan Vazzano, Roof System Specialist, went on site to inspect the damage to the roof. Upon his inspection, he discovered not only the raccoon damage but wind damaged shingles on the roof. As a result, Dan was able to work with the insurance adjuster to get a full roof replacement which not only covered the wind damaged shingles, but also the raccoon damage for only the cost of the deductible. This roof replacement included Owen’s Corning limited lifetime oak ridge shingles, along with drip edge and ice/water shield per Shelby County code. Ice & water is important because it is a safe guard in the most vulnerable areas of your roof ( valleys and penetrations), drip edge is important because it protects the edges of roof sheathing from water penetration due to driving rains and it supports the outermost edges of the shingles, enabling them to drip water while providing structural support so the shingles last longer without splitting or cracking. Drip edge also is a deterrent of critters trying to get in along the edges of your roof.  Dan takes great pride in making sure his customers are well informed and taken care of throughout the process. What started off as a repair job turned into a full roof replacement.

Please contact the office and ask for Dan if you would like for him to assist you in your roofing needs.
